Peaceful wooden cabins with mountain views and wonderful staff We spent several nights at Shankara in Jatiluwih and it was a lovely, restful stay. The property is about a year old and has twelve wooden cabins set facing the mountains. Everything still feels new. Our cabin had a very comfortable queen bed (we slept beautifully) and a spacious bathroom. There's a small pool, though it isn't heated, so it's for the brave; we didn't get in, but it adds a lot to the setting. The staff are the standout. Everyone works across several roles at once and does it with a smile — genuinely warm, helpful people who couldn't do enough for us. The manager in particular is sharp, capable and very pleasant to deal with. Only about three of the twelve cabins were occupied during our stay, which made the whole place feel wonderfully quiet. There's a small restaurant on site with few tables, all of them facing the mountain and its lush greenery — eating with that view is one of the nicest parts of staying here. The Shankara breakfast is excellent, generous and really well done. We ate dinner there every night too and the food was consistently good. One practical note: the location is genuinely remote, so you'll want transport. We rented a motorbike and it made exploring the area easy. A peaceful, well-run place with lovely people. Hidden gem in Jatiluwih. Beautiful location facing three mountains. Friendly and kind staff. They serve free breakfast, and good prices for dinner and drinks. An absolute dream place to unwind! We spent 8 wonderful days at Shankara Villa - Forest Haven Jatiluwih and are absolutely thrilled. The team is simply amazing – incredibly warm and attentive. The location is a magical oasis of peace, perfect for completely switching off. A special highlight was the coffee from their own plantation – simply delicious! We are also deeply grateful for the insights we gained: during our stay, we were able to learn and experience so much about Bali, its people, and its fascinating culture.
